Million Dollar question

Should we start the MBA journey as a fresher or MBA with work experience? You know what, options are awesome because you get to choose the best among many. But at the same time, you tend to get confused about how to decide which is the best one. The same happens in this case as well. Join the MBA after graduation or after attaining work experience, which is the better way to proceed? Let’s explore both options.

MBA Freshers

Did you just complete your graduation or still in the final year and aiming for an MBA after completing your college, but confused about whether is this the right time to do so? Check out some of the pros and cons of joining MBA without work experience in India.

Advantages

Many people feel that the flow should not be broken. Here, I am talking about the flow of studies. Till graduation, you are already in the zone of attending classes, submitting assignments, doing homework, and appearing in the exams. So, if you continue this trend, it’s easy for you to cope with the curriculum in MBA courses as well

Personal and professional developments are the key modifications that MBA provides. Since a fresher is like a clear board, the experiences in MBA courses help in grooming the person both personally and professionally. Since you will be new to the corporate world, an MBA makes you ready to face future challenges

The best news is coming your way and it is about placements. Top 50 MBA colleges in INDIA try to maintain a track record of 100% placements. So no need to go door to door of different offices because the companies will be coming for you on the campus. Also, some companies only select freshers for the job profiles they offer, especially the sales profile.

Disadvantages

MBA without work experience India feel high competition from the MBA with work experience people as they already know a lot of fancy stuff about the corporate world out there and can apply their work experience in the case studies and competitions. However, in way it also gives learning opportunity to freshers from their fellow classmates.

MBA with Work experience

Not only for MBA, but MBA with work experience means a lot because you have invested significant time in the organization(s). But does it always work in your favor, read in the section.

Advantages

As I have already mentioned that experience matters a lot. MBA is a course that makes you ready to face the challenges in the corporate world. Since you have already worked in the corporate, you know how it works, challenges being faced, and how to tackle those challenges. So, the journey seems easier for people having MBA with work experience.

Suppose you are working in an IT company because this is the only job you got from your last college. But you always wanted to be a marketer or a finance guy, etc. MBA courses gives you the option to switch industries and chase your dreams. In other words, you will be clearer in what you want and you can focus on the necessary things that help you achieve your target

Better soft skills as well as presentation skills are the gift of corporate exposure. In your two years of the MBA journey, you will be giving a lot of presentations and pitching your ideas in front of the class as well as in different competitions. So, you are already trained to perform well Human resource

You know what is one of the most important parts of advantages of MBA, it’s networking and work experience people are generally good at this, which helps them expand their network better

Disadvantages

After living the life of an employee, entering into student life is not as easy as it appears. We know that even people in jobs learn but their learning methods are different and there are no set criteria. So, adjusting to the class and exam model again may be tough for people pursuing MBA with work experience

Current statistics

Since you people are looking at the MBA courses as your next journey, you have to interpret numbers/ data. So let’s talk about some top institutes and what is the number of intake of intake of freshers and work experience people..

As per the table, you can see how the top institutes set the batch profile to maintain the diversity in the upcoming batch. But the competition is tough and the total number of work experienced people outweigh the total number of freshers.

Conclusion

As competition is increasing every year, many a times students need multiple attempts to get into a Tier 1 college. Hence, it is very important to start your preparation as fresher and aim to clear it in first attempt itself. Your first attempt as a fresher will always be easier as you won’t be having any break from your academic routine. However, in case you are not able to clear it in the first attempt as fresher, you can plan a retake along with work experience.

Coaching offers me personalized attention and a competitive environment. Because the preparation was so rigorous, I eventually began to perform at my best. The mock interviews/GD/WATs were conducted by anonymous panels, and it really boosted my confidence. Although I got a call from SCMHRD (SNAP-98.12), Abhijeet sir felt that I should try again and aim for IIM-A/B/C. It has been your pleasure to have been your mentor.

GMAT prep with MBAP was the best I've ever experienced. With Rohan Kulkarni Sir's Verbal Guidance, I scored 85th percentile in my GMAT exam as I was very weak in English. I always found Haider Sir and Abhijeet to answer my questions and to develop strategies and shortcuts to tackle GMAT problems for me. MBAP is a great option for GMAT and CAT prep.
