Top 8 Simple Habits that will make you ace CAT 2021

Top 8 Simple Habits to Ace CAT 2022 – CAT is the entrance exam to seek admission to the top management colleges in India. It is important to keep in mind that the preparation for CAT requires a high amount of dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Hence, to ace your exam there are some simple habits you must develop.

Mastering these simple habits will help you ace the exam

1. Developing Fast Calculation Speed:

CAT has a lot of numerical based questions in the Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning section, so having faster calculations skills will help you in solving these questions faster. Thus, you will have more time to take a call as to what question you want to solve, and simple habits like these will also help you later in life since a manager has to crunch numbers to make many managerial decisions.

2. Very Particular Time Management:

In CAT as well as in your career ahead, time is very precious. So, it is highly important for a manager to be good at time management, as this will not only help you attempt the CAT paper in an efficient manner, but also in many stages further ahead in your managerial career.

3. Planning your day:

Not talking about planning in your mind but on paper and having your agenda written for the day creates a positive impact on your mind. Simple Habits like these will help you stay in sync with the result that is to be achieved.

Otherwise, if the agenda is just in your head, it may fade away as the day progresses. Thus, planning your day on paper will help you track your progress while preparing for cat.

4. Keeping a positive mindset:

You mustn’t fall under the pressure of the CAT exam from what you may get to hear from your peers and seniors. Thus, try to take out time to refresh your mind with good music, an occasional outing with your friends, talking to your parents and also watching a movie. Your brain constantly wants rewards. Thus, rewarding your brain frequently, as a part of your simple habits, would make sure that it works well and does not get tired that easily.

5. Getting your doubts cleared:

If you get stuck somewhere and tend to ignore that, it becomes a part of your simple habits, and your brain gets into a zone of getting tired easily and giving up on your goals. Thus, it is highly important to get your doubts cleared by professionals, because the more you will go wrong in practice, the more doubts you will get clarified and thus do better in exams. As soldiers say, “The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in war!”.

6. Activities to have an Energetic Body / Medication:

If you were to look at some simple habits of highly efficient people, you will surely find one thing, and that is MEDITATION! And why not, meditation activates your mind and helps you keep calm and focus on your goals. This will thereby channelize your energy towards those goals.

Meditating for 15-30 minutes a day helps you stay in line with your goals and helps you minimize distractions.

7. Reading the newspaper:

A CAT aspirant should read the newspaper daily since it helps in processing as well as reading information fast. Moreover, it keeps one in touch with the happenings of the world.

The newspaper does not only aid till the D Day but even after getting a call letter from various premier institutes. This is because admission processes such as GD and PI, are based around current affairs. So, reading the newspaper daily would surely give you an edge during your preparation.

8. Having a proper sleep schedule:

CAT preparation plays a toll on the brain; with hard work it is equally important that the brain gets enough rest. So, one should try to get at least 6-7 hours of quality sleep to make sure that you do not get burned out easily.

If you have trouble sleeping, listening to your choice of music is a good solution. With great sleep, you wake up fresh and energized the next day to kick start your preparation.

Conclusion

Stay focused, stay motivated, stay happy, and master all these simple habits and you will be able to achieve the 99 percentile in cat that many desire!

Coaching offers me personalized attention and a competitive environment. Because the preparation was so rigorous, I eventually began to perform at my best. The mock interviews/GD/WATs were conducted by anonymous panels, and it really boosted my confidence. Although I got a call from SCMHRD (SNAP-98.12), Abhijeet sir felt that I should try again and aim for IIM-A/B/C. It has been your pleasure to have been your mentor.
