Legum Baccalaureus(Latin word) or Bachelor of Law is an undergraduate law degree for anyone who wants to enter the field of judiciary and law. Candidates after finishing their 12th grade can write a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for a chance to join the prestigious NLUs in India. You can become a lawyer, an advocate, a law officer, a paralegal, a lecturer, etc. after the completion of this course. The average salary is around 4-6 LPA for this degree holders. Students can also opt to join courses like LLM, M.Phil., LLD, Ph.D., etc. which are also offered by NLUs after the completion of LLB.
It is compulsory to clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) to practice law in India. It occurs annually on 15th September 2020 (tentatively). If you have not cleared this exam, you’ll not be eligible to argue in court.
