SET 2020 Paper Analysis

The SET 2020 exam was easy to moderate when we look at it from an overall perspective. Let us break it down sectional-wise:

English 

The English section consisted of Vocabulary, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension, totaling 20 questions. Candidates found reading comprehension lengthy but doable. The passages consisted of 200-250 words. Synonyms, Antonyms, and Phrasal verbs, etc., were asked as part of the Vocabulary part. Candidates felt that the grammar section was easy to attempt. Overall, the section was considered easy by most candidates, and scoring 17+ meant it was a good attempt.

Quantitative


The Quantitative section was easier than the previous year papers. Candidates expected this section to be the most difficult but were happy to see that it was easy. SI and CI, Profit and Loss, Percentage, and Time-Speed-Distance were the topics most asked. Two questions were asked Interpretation and 1 question were asked from Data Sufficiency and scoring 15+ was a good attempt.

General Awareness


The General Awareness section was moderate to difficult. Candidates found few questions very tricky. Static GK and Current Affairs related questions were mostly asked. Static GK was reported to be difficult while Static GK was said to be moderate. Scoring 12+ in this section was considered a great attempt.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning

The Analytical & Logical Reasoning section was reported to be very similar to previous year questions. Coding-Decoding, Puzzles, Blood Relations, and Direction Sense were the types of questions mostly asked. Candidates felt that the questions were not tricky but straightforward, which made it easier to attempt. A score of 12+ was considered a good attempt.

The English section consisted of Vocabulary, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension, totaling 40 questions. Two RC passages with 4 questions each were asked. These questions were easy. Grammar related questions were based on identifying correct sentences and others were related to conjunction/gerund/infinitive. Overall, this section was considered easy, and scoring 31+ meant it was a good attempt.

Quantitative
The Quantitative section had 2 sets of Data Interpretation totaling 3 questions. Both these sets were considered easy to moderate. 2 questions related to Data Sufficiency were difficult. 4 Questions on Number series and directions were asked, which were considered moderate. Other topics from which questions were asked were Time and Work, Ser-theory, Geometry & Rankings, Permutations & Combinations, and Probability. Overall, this section was considered moderate, and scoring 30+ was a good attempt.

The General Awareness section consisted of questions related to Important Days, Geography, Deficiency of Vitamins, Classical Dance forms, etc., Economics, Books and Authors, and Sports. Most of the questions were from Statis GK, which consisted of 25+ questions from it. Static GK also had some difficult questions overall. Scoring 23+ in this section was considered a great attempt.
