Xavier School of Management (XLRI)

Xavier School of Management (XLRI), is India’s first B-school that was founded in the year 1949. It is located in the city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is one of the best and oldest B schools in India. XLRI is ranked 9th by the NIRF in 2020 and first in Outlook India’s “Top Private MBA Institutes” of 2020. Programs at XLRI are accredited by the global accreditation body: AACSB, AMBA. Also, a few years ago, XLRI took a strategic step to expand across the country and decided to come up with a new campus. The new Delhi-NCR Campus is the first branch of XLRI after the Jamshedpur campus which will start from 2020.

Delhi-NCR Campus

Delhi-NCR campus is situated in Jhajjar, at Aurangpur. In the coming years, the new XLRI Delhi campus will offer a vast portfolio of courses like 2 year PGDM in Human Resource Management and Business Management. 15-months of Executive General Management Program for the executives who are having experience of more than 5 years. But currently only PGDM BM is being offered in Delhi NCR Campus.

PGDM (BM) 2-year full-time program on Business Management, and the completion students are honoured with Postgraduate diploma in Business Management. This program is rated as one of the refined of its kind in the country.

School of HR AND IR

PGDM (HRM)- XLRI offers a 2-year full-time Program in Human Resource Management on the completion of which, students are conferred with Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. The HRM course is ranked as the best program in India and the Asia-Pacific region

PGDM IB- 2-year full-time program on International Management

XLRI has achieved 100% placements for the batch of 2018-20. The Final Recruitment process included the participation of around 108 recruiters with 362 international and domestic offers. There were 24 new finals recruiters for the batch of 2018-20.

List of Exam

XAT score is the mandatory aspect in the XLRI selection process for all its high ranked PGDM program. GMAT scores are also accepted for admission in XLRI for NRI and foreign nationals.

Selection Process

XLRI Eligibility Criteria for Admission 2021

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline
No minimum percentage of marks in graduation for XLRI admission 2021
NRI and Foreign candidates may apply either through GMAT or through XAT 2021
Work experience is not mandatory for applying to XLRI. Fresher can also apply
Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered

XLRI Admission Process 2021

Stage 1: XAT 2020 Registration and Application

First, the candidate is required to apply for XAT 2021 and also to XLRI, Jamshedpur. The XLRI application process is online. XLRI is the XAT 2021 conducting authority and has provided the facility to apply for XAT 2021 and one or multiple management programs of XLRI through a common application form.

Stage 2: Apply for XLRI Admission 2021

Candidates can apply through a common application form for XAT and XLRI admission. Candidates have to pay an additional fee while completing the XAT 2021 application form as the XLRI PGDM program application fee is not included in XAT

Stage 3: XAT 2021 Exam

The candidate’s performance in XAT 2021 is the key criteria to clear the XLRI Selection. The XAT performance is accompanied by the overall score, percentile score as well as sectional score in the XAT 2021 exam. The XAT 2021 exam pattern has been modified and the Essay Writing Test has been removed from XAT 2021 computer-based test.

Stage 4: Shortlisting

There are two stages involved in the process of XLRI Admission: Shortlisting & Final Selection.

After the declaration of the XAT 2021 Result, XLRI will release the shortlist of the candidates for the final selection round for admission 2021. The XAT scorecard contains – overall percentile score, sectional percentile score, overall raw score, and sectional raw score. The XLRI shortlist will depend upon the candidate’s XAT 2021 percentile score and place in the XLRI merit list of shortlisted candidates.

XLRI will shortlist the candidates for the final selection round which may contain GD-PI-WAT as their evaluation component.

XLRI has the authority to decide on the minimum section-wise and overall cut off in the XAT entrance exam. If the candidate does not score the minimum percentile decided by the XLRI in XAT 2021 entrance exam, then he/she may not be eligible for shortlisting for the final selection stage.

Stage 5: Participate in GD-PI-WAT Round

All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in the final selection round for admission to the XLRI PGDM program
The Personal Interview Round for PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM) and PGDM (GM) candidates through XAT will be conducted in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Jamshedpur
For PGDM (GM) Program only, the candidates who cannot be present physically for the XLRI interviews would be carried out in online mode via the Internet. GMP Interviews can be conducted over Skype for overseas candidates

Stage 6: Final Admission Offer

Once all the rounds are done XLRI will release the final admission letter and this will be the last stage of the selection process

XLRI will prepare the final selection list based on a composite score, which takes into account the applicant’s academic record, XAT 2021 scores, Work experience, and overall performance in the PI Round

I joined MBAP for GMAT prep and my experience with them was really amazing, from the first day itself the faculties gave personal attention to each student and made sure each student had their own personalised GMAT and CAT prep plans.
